Criterion Investments Ltd. confirmed on Thursday that the Criterion Diversified Commodities Currency Hedged Fund is now operational on the FundSERV system for Class E Units. (Class E Units are held by those unitholders who purchased their units in the initial public offering in 2005, or on the Toronto Stock Exchange.)

The trust, formerly named the Criterion Dow Jones – AIG Commodity Index Fund, announced on June 5, that it had completed its transition from a closed-end investment fund to an open-end mutual fund.

On May 12, unitholders approved a special resolution to mutualize the trust, together with other necessary changes to give effect to the mutualization, including the delisting of the units from the TSX.

“The mutualization provides Unitholders with a number of significant benefits, including improved liquidity, enhanced pricing, risk mitigation through currency protection and potential economies of scale,” said Ian McPherson, president, Criterion Investments.

These Class E units are not available for purchase.
