TD Insurance Home and Auto will expand its Saint John, New Brunswick client service centre operation and will establish a new national claims response centre that together is expected to create 200 new jobs.
N.B. Premier Shawn Graham was joined at a news conference today by Alain Thibault, President and CEO of TD Insurance, Saint John East MLA Roly MacIntyre and Saint John Mayor Ivan Court.
“We’re both proud and excited to be expanding our business in New Brunswick. Our Saint John client service centre has managed more than 300,000 calls so far this year and the new claims response centre has received nearly 5,000 calls since it opened in April; adding employees in both centres will enable us to further attract and retain customers, and help those in need,” said Thibaultl.
The provincial government will provide TD Insurance Home and Auto with a forgivable loan of $5,600 for each of the 200 jobs created at its operations in Saint John. The client service centre currently employs more than 200 people.
The Saint John client service centre is the amalgamated operation of the former Liberty Mutual Insurance Co. Centre, acquired by TD Bank Financial Group in 2004. The home and auto business of TD Insurance is the largest direct-response home and auto insurer in Canada, with close to 1 million clients, $1.8 billion in written premiums and more than 3,600 employees.
