Dundee Wealth Management announced on Tuesday that John Bai will be joining the company on Aug. 28 as senior vice president, head of Research Marketing and Portfolio Services, Retail Division.
Bai’s professional experience includes senior roles at Midland Walwyn and Merrill Lynch Canada. Most recently he was head of the Research Marketing and Managed Investment Solutions Group at TD Waterhouse, where his team provided day-to-day investment research support to TD’s investment advisors, as well as the direct oversight of $15 billion in managed investments.
At Dundee, Bai will lead a team of investment professionals that provide timely research support to Dundee’s national network of advisors covering traditional equities (Canadian, U.S., Global), fixed-income securities, mutual funds and income structured equities (income trusts, preferred shares, derivatives). One of his areas of focus in this regard will be the creation of relevant and timely turnkey research packages to help support advisors’ sales and marketing efforts.
Bai will also lead the firm’s Portfolio Services offering including recommended portfolios, portfolio analytics, and Dundee’s managed investment platform. Dundee’s national team of regional portfolio specialists — which includes Caroline Laflamme, Doug Culp, Felicia Lo-Koh, Wade DesRoches and Steve McGrath — will report directly to John to provide field execution of its portfolio services offering. Finally, Bai will also be a key addition to the leadership team driving Dundee’s Portfolio Management program.
