Toronto-based PPI has launched a new program designed to help insurance advisors stay on top of technical developments in the insurance space, while also learning new sales strategies.
The new initiative, called The Knowledge Program, provides in-depth courses on various advanced insurance planning structures and strategies. The courses also incorporate tangible sales ideas that advisors can implement in their day-to-day practices.
The program is available to PPI’s affiliated advisors, which includes a number of national IIROC and MFDA firms that PPI supports in the insurance area.
“Today’s market and regulatory environment requires advisors to be well informed about the suitability and application of insurance,” says Jim Virtue, president and CEO of PPI Solutions, a marketing channel of PPI. “Our courses are not just filled with technical content though. They also explore ways to meet client needs through a number of ideas and case studies.”
The first course in the series, called The Business Insurance Market, is currently being rolled out across the country. It covers corporate structures and taxation, life insurance taxation, shareholder agreements and corporate owned insurance, and strategies advisors can use to tap into Canada’s vast small business market.
The courses are formatted as one-day sessions that incorporate multi-media presentations, interactive classroom discussions and a variety of review material for advisors’ ongoing reference.
“A solid knowledge base enables an advisor to develop the belief and conviction to serve his or her clients’ best interests,” says James Burton, chairman and CEO of PPI. “Our courses will help participants understand the issues and what they need to know in order to have better discussions with clients and their lawyers and accountants.”
Advisors are urged to contact their local PPI office for more information on the program.
