Seven hundred and fifty-nine individuals wrote the Financial Planners Standards Council (FPSC) Certified Financial Planner (CFP) Examination on June 14, and 303 passed.

John Wickett, vp, standards & certification, FPSC offered congratulations to the successful examination candidates. “The CFP Examination is a critical component of the CFP certification eligibility requirements,” he says. “These candidates are now one step closer to earning the certification mark acknowledged throughout Canada and internationally as the highest standard for competence and ethics in financial planning.”

The six-hour exam is administered in both official languages twice a year. The June exam was held in 49 centres across Canada.

The list of successful exam candidates will be published in The Globe and Mail on September 4.

The next scheduled sitting of the exam is on November 15. Registration closes on October 15. Examination information and applications
are available at www.fpsccanada.org.

The exam is one component of the CFP certification program that also includes pre-requisite education to qualify to write the CFP examination, relevant work experience, ongoing adherence to the CFP Code of Ethics and fulfillment of annual continuing education requirements.
