After some clients started losing connectivity to LSE’s trading platform around 07:45 GMT Monday, LSE shut down the platform altogether at 08:17 GMT, and only resumed trading at 15:00 GMT.
The UK’s FTSE 100 index closed higher 3.9%.
The last time the LSE had such a long outage of trading was April 5, 2000.
