Insurance and investment advisors can now buy a new service card that gives clients greater access to medical information and services.

Effective today, clients can purchase a new Best Doctors Service Card that will allow them to access to leading doctors. The card, offered as a yearly membership from Best Doctors Inc., is the first of its kind in Canada. It is available for purchase only through insurance and investment advisors.

“We are very pleased to be able to significantly expand the scope of medical information and choice that is currently available to people in Canada,” Don Thomson, general manager of Best Doctors, told the World Critical Illness Insurance Conference in Victoria, B.C. “With this new card, more Canadians can be reassured in knowing that if they are ever faced with a serious medical condition, Best Doctors can help them find their way through the maze of medical information and healthcare choices.”

Until now, clients could access Best Doctors’ services only after purchasing a critical illness insurance policy. Now, the services are available for a monthly membership fee.

“This is exciting news, not only for Canadian patients and doctors who can now access a world of medical expertise, but also for insurance and investment advisors who can now provide the Service Card to their clients” Thomson said in a statement.

Best Doctors Inc. helps connect people with medical care by using a database of more than 50,000 doctors, “recognized as the best by top specialists.”
