A new survey says Canadian companies and employees are more dependent on smartphones and tablets to get the job done.
The Bank of Montreal survey says 64 per cent of businesses reported they use mobile devices to run their company, and 57 per cent of employees rely on devices to do their job effectively.
The survey found that companies consider the investment in mobile devices, security and compatibility issues before deciding whether employees should be provided a company device, or whether they should bring their own.
It also found that business owners in Ontario and B.C. are the most reliant on mobile devices to run their companies.
Still, the survey found that one in 10 business owners do not rely on a mobile device at all.
The online survey by BMO (TSX:BMO) was conducted by market research firm Pollara with 500 Canadian business owners between August 11 and 28.
