The Fédération des caisses populaires acadiennes (FCPA), which has a network of 33 caisses in New Brunswick, and Desjardins Group today announced the signing of a new affiliation protocol.

This new protocol details and defines the institutional ties that bind the two organizations. It follows the technology services agreement renewed in early 2006, under which the New Brunswick caisses populaires use the Desjardins technological platform and some of its financial products and services to serve their approximately 200,000 members.

Both the FCPA and Desjardins Group have shared the same IT platform since 1974 and they have been linked by an affiliation protocol since 1990.

“We are of course extremely pleased to have signed this agreement, which will allow us to continue our productive partnership to the benefit of both organizations and the cooperative sector as a whole,” said Alban D’Amours, president and CEO of Desjardins Group.

Camille Thériault, pesident and CEO of FCPA stated: “There is a long-standing relationship between the two cooperative movements and this new agreement serves the interests of both parties quite well. Both organizations have common values while each maintains its own identity, which is important in our eyes. We are satisfied with this partnership which allows us to keep serving our respective members well.”
