The Toronto Stock Exchange has confirmed that on Oct. 14, 100 symbols, out of a total of almost 4,000 listed on TMX Group equity exchanges, either went into a system delay at the opening or were affected by a post-opening freeze because they exceeded TSX market volatility parameters.
“This in turn led to a process whereby each symbol had to be reviewed prior to being reopened and traded. The parameters and this re-opening process are in place to ensure an orderly market,” the TSX said in a release.
The was completed at 11:30 a.m., at which time all symbols resumed trading.
