Four fund families received top group honours at Wednesday night’s 2014 Lipper Fund Awards in Toronto.

The awards recognize funds that have excelled in delivering consistently strong risk-adjusted performance relative to their peers. In addition, the program recognizes fund families with high average scores for all funds within a particular asset class or overall.

In the group awards, Pacific Investment Management Co. was named best bond funds group, while Mawer Investment Management was named best equity funds group. The best mixed asset funds group award went to ATB Investment Management, while RBC Global Asset Management was named best funds group overall.

Awards for individual funds were handed out in three categories: three-year; five-year and 10-year performance.

Several fund groups received numerous awards for individual funds. Mawer led with 12, Fidelity Investments Canada received 10, and CI Investments Inc. and TD Asset Management each received eight awards. In all, 33 families received individual fund awards.

A complete list of winners is available on the Lipper Awards website.

The awards take place in 23 countries in Asia, Europe, the Middle East/North Africa and the Americas.

Lipper Fund Awards are part of the broader Thomson Reuters Awards for Excellence program.
