European securities regulators are extending their restrictions on short selling certain financial stocks yet again.
Regulators in Spain and Italy, whose temporary short selling moratoriums are set to expire at the end of September, have both decided to extend the measures.
Italian regulators decided to extend restrictive measures on short sales until November 11, and to continue imposing additional disclosure requirements until November 25.
Spanish regulators are extending their measures “until markets conditions allow” them to be lifted. The restrictions will remain in place for the minimum time needed, it says.
