Mackenzie Financial Corp. has launched a new equity fund to invest in high-quality U.S. companies, the company announced on Monday.
The Mackenzie Ivy American Class will pursue a long-term growth strategy consistent with preservation of capital over the long term.
The Ivy investment process is centered around bottom-up fundamental investment research and business analysis. The managers take the view that they are buying a business, not just a stock.
The Mackenzie team does not attempt to forecast short-term market movements, but focuses on businesses considered to have superior and relatively consistent longer-term growth prospects.
Jerry Javasky, senior vp of Mackenzie Investments and head of the Ivy team and David Arpin, vp of Mackenzie Investments will be primarily responsible for finding businesses that are attractively priced in the U.S. equity market.
