Sun Life Global Investments (Canada) Inc. Monday launched five new retail funds and introduced an additional sub-advisor, Franklin Templeton Institutional, part of Franklin Templeton Investments, to grow its product shelf.
“We are excited to add Franklin Templeton Investments to our fund lineup and to expand our successful partnerships with Dynamic Funds and Sentry Investments,” says Sadiq Adatia, chief investment officer, Sun Life Global Investments.
The new funds to be launched are:
- Sun Life Dynamic American Value Fund;;
- Sun Life Sentry Conservative Balanced Fund
- Sun Life Sentry Global Mid Cap Fund;
- Sun Life Sentry Infrastructure Fund; and
- Sun Life Templeton Global Bond Fund.
For the Sentry funds, Dennis Mitchell, executive vice president and chief investment officer, Sentry Investments Inc. will manage Sun Life Sentry Global Mid Cap Fund; Michael Simpson, senior vice president and senior portfolio manager, and James Dutkiewicz, chief investment strategist and senior portfolio manager, will manage Sun Life Sentry Conservative Balanced Fund; and Gajan Kulasingam, portfolio manager, will manage Sun Life Sentry Infrastructure Fund.
Sun Life Global Investments has $9.5 billion in client assets under management (AUM), as of Dec, 31, 2014 and an increased offering of 58 retail mutual funds.
The new funds will be available through Sun Life Financial advisors, Mutual Fund Dealers Association (MFDA) and Investment Industry Regulatory Organization of Canada (IIROC) dealers.
