Toronto-based Questrade Wealth Management Inc. has entered the exchange traded fund (ETF) market with the launch of Questrade Smart ETFs. There are four sector ETFs and two U.S. midcap ETFs, all based on Russell Indexes.
Questrade Smart ETFs are hedged to the Canadian dollar, which marks the first time investors can access Russell’s equal-weight sectors and U.S. midcap equities on the TSX, according to the firm.
“Questrade Smart ETFs track Russell indices on an equal weight basis,” says John Youn, executive managing director, ETFS and global structured products at Questrade Wealth Management. “By spreading exposure evenly across the opportunity set, equal-weight indexes avoid the concentration that can occur in market-cap-weighted indexes, giving you the higher upside potential of small cap with the overall stability of large cap.”
The six new ETFs are:
- Questrade Russell US Midcap Value Index ETF Hedged to CAD (TSX:QMV)
- Questrade Russell US Midcap Growth Index ETF Hedged to CAD (TSX:QMG)
- Questrade Russell 1000 Equal Weight US Technology Index ETF Hedged to CAD (TSX:QRT)
- Questrade Russell 1000 Equal Weight US Health Care Index ETF Hedged to CAD (TSX:QRH)
- Questrade Russell 1000 Equal Weight US Consumer Discretionary Index ETF Hedged to CAD (TSX:QRD)
- Questrade Russell 1000 Equal Weight US Industrials Index ETF Hedged to CAD (TSX:QRI)
