TSX Group today released its submission to the legislative committee on Bill C-30. It has been posted on the corporation’s Web site, tsx.com.

The submission states: “As the government considers policy options for reducing greenhouse gas emissions and to the extent that tradeable carbon credits form part of the overall policy, TSX appreciates the opportunity to submit our views on how to ensure that such trading markets work efficiently and effectively in helping climate change goals be realized. TSX is interested in establishing carbon markets, as well as other markets in the environmental sphere. In that context TSX Group will seek to provide solutions to support both government and large final emitters (many of whom are existing TSX clients) in achieving reduction goals.

The complete four-page submission is now on tsx.com.
