The Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions (OSFI) announced Thursday that Jamey Hubbs will become assistant superintendent, deposit-taking supervision sector, effective April 7.
Hubbs joined OSFI back in 2012, and was most recently senior director, credit operations, market and model risk within OSFI’s supervision support group. In his new role, he also joins OSFI’s executive committee.
Prior to joining the regulator, Hubbs was executive vice president and managing director, co-head of global markets CEO for HSBC Securities (Canada) Inc. He has also held management positions at TD Securities, National Bank Financial, and Scotia Capital, in both Canada and London, U.K.
Hubbs has a BA from the University of Waterloo and a Masters Certificate in Project Management from the Schulich School of Business.
Superintendent Jeremey Rudin said that in the coming months OSFI will also name an assistant superintendent for insurance supervision.
