CALU, the Conference for Advanced Life Underwriting, has launched a new web site, www.calu.ca, offering information of interest to financial advisors in Canada.
“We’ve designed the new site with the financial services professional in mind,” said Paul McKay, CALU’s Ottawa-based executive director, in a news release. “The focus will be on marketing and sales content as well as tax-related information that is of interest to members and other financial services professionals. Visitors will be able to access information without being subject to additional login requirements.”
The new site features six major content sections, providing articles and commentary on marketing, life insurance, advisor planning, wealth creation, employee benefits, and political involvement. The latter section reflects CALU’s mandate to provide member-driven government relations and consultations at the federal level.
The site includes a “submissions” link in which CALU files its most recent submissions to the Department of Finance and Canada Revenue Agency on issues such as critical illness and long-term care and interest deductibility.
CALU’s Tax Policy Roundtable report, featuring official questions and answers from the Canada Revenue Agency covering a variety of issues and applications concerning life insurance and financial products, will be available by clicking on the “Advanced Tax Policy” link. The site also provides access to archived issues of the Tax Policy Roundtable reports.
CALU plans to refresh the site content regularly and will offer visitors the option to include their e-mail address in the CALU update service section to receive notifications of new site content.
