Sentry Select Capital Corp. today announced the hiring of Kevin MacLean as senior portfolio manager.

In his new role, MacLean will have primary responsibility for equity valuation and for gold and base metal equity research. He brings more than 25 years’ experience in fundamental analysis and portfolio management to Sentry Select’s growing investment team.

In 2001, MacLean received number one rankings in the precious metals and diamonds category of the Brendan Woods Analyst Rankings.

He graduated from the University of Toronto in 1977 with a Bachelor of Applied Science and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.

“Kevin’s extensive experience and keen insight into the base and precious metals industry makes him the perfect fit for our already successful investment management team,” said John Driscoll, president and CEO of Sentry Select, in a news release.

Sentry Select is a wealth management company with total assets under management of approximately $3 billion. Its 12-member investment team includes portfolio managers, research analysts and traders.
