Companies want CDS Clearing and Depository Services Inc. to bring new services to market faster, according to a member satisfaction survey released Thursday.
CDS reports that in late summer last year, it conducted its first System Development Enhancement and Maintenance value for money assessment. “Our objective was to determine participant community views on the effectiveness of the SDEM structure for identifying and developing new or enhanced services,” it explains.
The survey found that most participants (80%) said they were satisfied with the new services and enhancements delivered by CDS.
“This strong finding was reinforced by positive survey results on eight other areas showing that CDS generally: communicates effectively; listens to participant needs and is responsive; offers effective training; has easily accessible customer service hotlines; has highly rated services; and implements relevant enhancements that are tested thoroughly.”
However, the survey also recommends that CDS:
> should be more proactive and deliver new services/enhancements sooner/more completely;
> evaluate whether the SDRC truly represents its participant base and users; and
> limit time spent on cost analysis and launch projects faster.
The survey is based on responses from 140 individuals at 74 firms.
