ShareholderApp, a company that creates digital mobile applications for publicly traded companies looking for a way to deliver information to their shareholders, launched its services in Canada on Tuesday.
The New York-based mobile app developer is promising a product that can be tailored and branded for any company listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX), TSX Venture Exchange and other Canadian exchanges. The app could include features such as share price updates, company news, charts and any other material a company wanted to provide within its investor relations program.
The app would be also be useful to fund portfolio managers, research analysts, brokers, company directors and employees, says Nancy Goertzen, president of ShareholderApp’s Canadian office in Vancouver.
The direct-to-mobile investor relations platform is a clear shift that is beginning to take place throughout global equity markets, she says.
“It’s not surprising, when you consider the user-driven demand for mobile applications in practically all other areas of commerce and society,” Goertzen adds. “We expect that shareholder demand for information via mobile will continue to grow exponentially.”
ShareholderApp’s Canadian launch took place at the Canadian Investor Relations Institute’s annual conference in Banff, Alberta. It coincides with the rollout of ShareholdApp in the U.S., U.K. and Australia.
