The Nasdaq Stock Market plans to ask firms to halt trading for a minute on Friday to commemorate the events of Sept. 11, 2001.
Nasdaq says that it will ask market participants to refrain from trading activity between 11:00 a.m. and 11:01 a.m. on Friday to remember those who lost their lives in the terrorist attack four years ago.
Also, throughout the day, Nasdaq will display on its tower the U.S. Flag and at 4 p.m. will feature a special commemoration of the Tribute of Light in honor of the victims of Sept. 11.
On Saturday, the Nasdaq MarketSite in Times Square will also run the names of those who lost their lives, as well as the American Flag on its Tower to pay further tribute.
