BMO Bank of Montreal is appointing of Alexandra Dousmanis-Curtis to the role of senior vice president, personal and commercial banking, in Toronto.

Dousmanis-Curtis goes to BMO from TD Canada Trust. At TD, Dousmanis-Curtis held a number of positions including vice president and regional manager and vice president, human resources, GTA Division, and most recently was responsible for leading TD’s retail sales strategy projects. At BMO, she will be responsible for the performance of 2,629 professionals who serve our customers through BMO’s GTA network of 166 branches from Burlington in the west to Newmarket in the north and to Bowmanville in the east.

“For Alex, this is a ‘home-coming,’ as she began her career here at BMO Bank of Montreal and spent the first seven years of her 28 years, as a banker, lender and mortgage specialist with BMO in Toronto,” said Frank Techar, president and CEO, personal and commercial banking Canada. “Alex is a proven retail banking leader who has demonstrated the ability to exceed performance targets while at the same time believing, as we do, in a culture that values customers — their concerns and their time — above all else.”

“BMO has always valued local judgment, local experience, and local customer knowledge,” said Dousmanis-Curtis. “It is the renewed attention of everyone at BMO to putting the customer first that made it this comfortable for me to come home.”

“Alex’s extensive retail banking experience and her ability to inspire a customer-focused team of bankers will help us attract new customers and grow our personal and commercial business in the highly competitive GTA,” said Mr. Techar.

Previously, as senior vice president, Ontario southwest region, Dousmanis-Curtis successfully led the region through the TD CT merger. She was directly accountable for leading the integration of 144 branches and consolidating 92 branch locations. Under her leadership, the region became a top performer.
