BMO has also recently established an executive position to oversee the bank’s commercial banking operations in the Montreal Metropolitan Area under the leadership of Victor Pellegrino.
“I am extremely pleased that we were able to fill these highly strategic positions with skilled internal leaders such as Victor Pellegrino and Mario Rigante while attracting proven executives known for their customer commitment and ability to exceed performance targets, said François Hudon, senior vp, Quebec division, BMO Bank of Montreal, in a release.
“These new executive colleagues and our leadership group will focus on ensuring that our 2,300 employees in Quebec offer our customers a superior banking experience and personalized financial solutions during each branch visit or conversation,” he said.

Pellegrino has more than 20 years experience with BMO, primarily in commercial banking. By creating the position of vp, commercial banking, Montreal Metropolitan, BMO clearly indicates the importance of providing small and medium-sized enterprises in the Montreal area with a full range of banking products and services, as well as a full suite of integrated commercial and capital markets products and financial advisory services.
“These new members of our leadership team, who are all trilingual, reflect the diversity of Montreal, and will be able to serve the various cultural communities that contribute to the dynamism of the city,” said Hudon.
Tyros, Girault and Rigante are very active in the community. Tyros is president of the Metropolitan Montreal Hellenic Board of Trade and serves on the boards of Centraide and the Montreal Board of Trade while Girault is a former director of the Fondation de l’Hôpital Jean Talon and Sport Montreal.
Rigante is on the board of EPOC Montreal and is vice chairman of BMO Fountain of Hope, the charitable employee foundation of BMO Financial Group.
The new appointments follow the retirement of Marie-Thérèse Neklawi and Pierre Beauchamp, and the election of Nicole Ménard as MNA for Laporte in the last provincial election. Also, Pierre Bergeron who was vp for Laval and Northwest Quebec will now assume the vice-presidency of BMO’s South-Eastern Quebec district.
