Laurentian Bank Securities (LBS) today announced that Carlos Leitao will assume the role of strategist in addition to his present position of chief economist at LBS. Leitao joined LBS almost two years ago.

LBS says the promotion supports the introduction of a new strategic function by its economic services team.

Headed by Leitao, the LBS economic services team presently includes six members. Among them, Michel Tessier, senior financial analyst, as well as Jean-François Villeneuve and Alex Grassino, both economists, will have larger mandates now and will support Leitao in his new function of strategist.

Leitao and his team will be in charge of an in-depth stock market analysis and will help identify investment strategies in order to prepare investment recommendations. Special attention will be given to Quebec and Canadian stocks.
