On June 18, the world’s stock and derivatives exchanges are coming to Toronto and the visit is being marked by a special market opening at the TSX Broadcast Centre.

Representatives from The World Federation of Exchanges (WFE), the 55 member organization representing global exchanges, will meet in Toronto for two days of WFE Working Committee meetings.

The meetings are held to assemble committee members to review key issues facing stock and derivatives exchange industry business lines, and discuss the impact of these in a global context. For 2007-2008, the committee is chaired by Paul Chow, chief executive, Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing.

TSX CEO Richard Nesbitt is, himself, a member of the WFE board.

WFE officials will open trading at Toronto Stock Exchange on Monday, June 18.
