The Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants today welcomed the 1,907 candidates who passed this year’s Uniform Evaluation (UFE).

CICA president and CEO David Smith, commented on the national results saying: “On behalf of the CA profession, I would like to congratulate all 1,907 successful UFE candidates.” The UFE is an importan step in qualifying to become a CA.

Baoqin Guo of KPMG LLP in Toronto, was awarded the Governor General’s Gold Medal and the Chartered Accountants of Canada cash prize of $5,000 for the highest standing in Canada on 2004 UFE.

The regional Gold Medal and cash prize of $2,500 for the highest standing in the UFE in each of the Atlantic Provinces, Western Canada and Québec, respectively went to Nicole Rachel Henneberry, of Grant Thornton LLP in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia; Michael Chubb of KPMG LLP in Vancouver; and Jean-Pierre Collette of Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton, S.E.N.C.R.L. of Gaspé, Quebec.
