Louis Morisset, superintendent of securities markets, Autorité des marchés financiers, has been re-elected as chairman of the group that oversees adoption of the agreement that ensures cooperation among international securities regulators, the AMF said Thursday.

Morisset chairs the monitoring group that deals with the International Organization of Securities Commissions’ multilateral memorandum of understanding, which was adopted in May 2002, to help ensure cooperation between jurisdictions. The group supervises the implementation of the MOU and ensures that it is properly applied by all its signatories.

He was re-elected to head the group at IOSCO’s annual conference in Tel Aviv last week. Montreal and the AMF will be hosting the group’s next annual meeting from June 6 to 10, 2010.
