Investors Group is proposing changes to the investment mandates for Investors Short Term Capital Yield Class and Investors Capital Yield Class, the company said Tuesday.

The proposed change will broaden the mandates to enhance the ability of each Class to generate an investment return for shareholders similar to a Canadian fixed income fund by removing the requirement that they invest primarily in equities and forward contracts.

“This change is intended to ensure that each Class is more stable and less susceptible to disruptions in the equity, credit and interest rate markets,” Investors Group says.

These changes require securityholder approval. Meetings are scheduled for Augst 13. If approved, these changes are expected to occur on September 1.
