Crocus Investment Fund said yesterday it will co-operate with the Manitoba Auditor General’s plans to conduct a limited examination of the labour-sponsored investment fund.
“Crocus will fully cooperate with the Auditor General in its limited examination of the fund”, it said in a release.
“We will also continue with the voluntary comprehensive assessment of the value of the fund’s portfolio and organizational review, which was announced by Crocus after requesting and receiving approval from the Manitoba Securities Commission to halt trading of its shares.”
Crocus suspended sales and redemptions of its shares on Dec. 10 as the LSIF began an organizational review and assessment of the value of its portfolio. Several executives and high-profile board members have left the fund or resigned.
Meanwhile, some shareholders are preparing a class-action lawsuit after Crocus suspended sales and redemptions of its shares last week.
The investors have scheduled a meeting at the Convention Centre on Monday, Dec. 20. They have also asked representatives of the government and the opposition to attend.
Crocus is the largest LSIF in Manitoba. More than 34,000 Manitobans have invested in the fund.
