The Montreal Exchange’s S&P/TSX 60 Index Mini futures contract has been cleared for sale in the United States, The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission said Wednesday.

The CFTC reports that on March 28, the Montreal Exchange requested an expedited review of the futures contract, so that it can be sold to .s.S investors. It also sought permission for the contract to be made available through direct access terminals in the US.

The regulator’s Division of Market Oversight reviewed the contract and determined that it satisfied the requirements of derivatives legislation and the CFTC’s rules. Therefore, it can be sold in the U.S., effective April 19.
