Investors in Canada can access a new online video resource to help them master the basics of building an investment portfolio thanks to exchange traded funds provider iShares ETFs.
Toronto-based BlackRock Asset Management Canada Ltd. the manager of the iShares ETFs, announced Wednesday that Bruce Sellery, author and founder of Bruce Sellery Inc., a personal finance training company and the Moolala brand, serves as host of the five videos that can be found exclusively at www.iShares.ca.
The videos cover such topics as setting priorities, determing whether to use a financial advisor, creating a basic investment portfolio, rebalancing investments and understanding active & passive investing.
“Markets are evolving, and with them, so is the innovation of investment options. This innovation is outpacing the awareness and education available to many investors today,” says Mary Anne Wiley, managing director, head of iShares distribution, BlackRock Canada. “That’s what this partnership is all about: empowering individuals to have the confidence to make decisions with their money, whether on their own or through the advice of financial professionals.”
“The individual investor can’t control if the market goes up or down, but they can control their own behaviour, and that counts for a lot. These videos are intended to help people learn the basics and empower them to get a handle on their money,” says Sellery.
“When Bruce talks, people hear him. His years as a financial journalist and as a well-respected financial planning expert have given Bruce the ability to translate complicated and often overwhelming terms into basic, attainable and achievable advice,” concludes Wiley.
