Canadian Western Bank has signed an agreement to buy the National Bank of Greece (Canada) branch in Vancouver.
The assets purchased from National Bank of Greece (Canada) consist primarily of residential mortgages and personal loans. The aggregate value of assets purchased and deposits assumed totals approximately $22 million.
The transaction is scheduled to be completed January 31 Canadian Western said today in a release it will continue to operate the branch at its current location at 3190 West Broadway Ave. and all current employees will continue to work for the branch.
The purchase brings Canadian Western’s presence in the lower mainland of B.C. to six locations.
Canadian Western Bank has 30 branch locations and is the largest Schedule I chartered bank headquartered in and regionally focused on Western Canada.
The bank, which has total assets of almost $5 billion, specializes in mid-market commercial lending and also offers retail services.
