Retrocom Growth Fund Inc. has named Eryl Roberts as the fund’s new chairman of the board. Roberts replaces Michael Steplock who has decided to retire as a director of the fund.
Roberts has been a director of the labour-sponsored investment fund since 1995, and was appointed vice chairman of last year. He brings with him over 25 years of experience in construction industry labour relations and association management.
Roberts has served as the executive vp of the Electrical Contractors Association of Toronto from 1989 to 1999 and as the executive vp of the Electrical Contractors Association of Ontario from 1989 to present. He is also treasurer of the Joint Electrical Promotion Plan and represents management on several joint industry committees and tribunals.
“On behalf of the fund, I would like to thank Michael Steplock for his tremendous leadership as chairman of the board since the fund’s inception in 1995” said Roberts. “I look forward to continuing to serve the shareholders of Retrocom Growth Fund as its new chairman,” he added.
Concurrently with Robert’s appointment as chairman, Primo Fantin was appointed vice-chairman of the board. Fantin has also been a director of the fund since 1995 and brings with him 38 years of experience in the construction industry and 18 years of experience in the finance industry.
He is president of a development company and secretary treasurer of Roswell Homes. He has also acted as general manager of Ontario Public Network. Fantin was also the director of the Residential Framing Contractor Association for four consecutive terms.
Retrocom was established in 1995. The LSIF currently has assets of over $75 million invested in a diverse portfolio of investments in the commercial and residential construction, resort condominium, sports entertainment and facilities management and tourism sectors, among others.
