Toronto-based Manulife Asset Management (AM) Ltd. continues to bolster its European team with the appointment of Robert Corbally to the role of managing director for the firm’s global product team in London, U.K.

“As we continue to build our business in Europe, we are confident that Robert’s extensive experience with product development and management in Europe will help us accelerate our business plans and expand our global product offerings for our clients,” says Ian Filderman, senior managing director and global head of product at Manulife AM, through a statement released on Monday. “Robert has developed and managed an array of investments, including both traditional assets and alternatives, and we are pleased to welcome him to Manulife Asset Management.”

Corbally began his new role in November. He comes to Manulife AM from Edinburgh-based Standard Life Investments Ltd. where he was a senior product development manager. He also held similar roles with Ignis Asset Management Ltd., which was acquired by Standard Life Investments (Holdings) Ltd. in 2014, and London, U.K.-based Aviva Investors U.K. Fund Services Ltd.

Corbally’s move to Manulife AM is the latest in a series of hirings for the firm’s European team. Claude Chene was appointed to the role of global head of distribution in June and a new global emerging markets equity portfolio management team was added in 2014. Both additions are based in London, U.K.
