Toronto-based Mackenzie Financial Corp. has announced that Rick Weed, the firm’s senior vice president and head of systematic strategies, will assume management of Mackenzie Global Small Cap Growth Fund, Mackenzie Global Small Cap Growth Class and Mackenzie Growth Fund on Jan. 1, 2016.
The move comes as Chuck Bastyr, vice president and portfolio manager of Mackenzie Global Small Cap Growth Fund and Mackenzie Global Small Cap Growth Class, is planning to leave the firm effective Dec. 31, according to announcement issued by Mackenzie on Friday.
In another portfolio-management change, Konstantin Boehmer, vice president and portfolio manager at Mackenzie, will assume portfolio-management responsibilities for Mackenzie Asian Bond Fund and a portion of Symmetry Global Bond Fund.
Mackenzie has also announced that Mackenzie Emerging Markets Opportunities Class and Mackenzie Emerging Markets Opportunities Fund will be managed by the emerging markets and Asia Pacific equities team at the asset-management arm of New York-based JPMorgan Chase and Co. Austin Forey and Leon Eidelman will lead the management of those funds.
