Forms Doctor Inc.’s paperwork automation features are now available to investment and insurance companies to help independent financial advisors save time and reduce errors when filling out their forms.

The Windsor Ont.-based firm has been building and maintaining paperwork automation systems for financial advisors and investment dealers since 2004. By converting their forms to adminPRO Forms, investment and insurance companies can now provide some of the best features of those automation systems to anyone who uses their forms, while maintaining complete control over their distribution.

“One of the most popular features is the automatic fund code insertion button that allows users to look up a fund and insert the correct code with a couple of mouse clicks,” said David Dagley, president of Forms Doctor. The forms also have built-in S.I.N. validators and self-correcting formatting for dates of birth, S.I.N.s, and phone numbers.

“We have encountered at least 14 different date of birth formats when working with financial forms,” said Dagley. “This makes it impossible to copy and paste a date of birth if the source format does not match the form. Our forms automatically correct the format of the pasted value and fit it properly into the form.”

Forms Doctor believes investment and insurance firms will quickly recoup the cost of the forms through a reduction in paperwork errors and programming costs. Everyone who opens the forms will have access to a list of standard features. Users with Forms Doctor’s 3-Click adminPRO+ software installed will be able to access even more features, including the ability to automatically complete core client information from a database, store and select up to 10 dealer and fund company account numbers per client, and automatically complete relinquishing institution information on transfer documents.
