Top female executives in the financial services industry are some of the most influential according to the Toronto-based Women’s Executive Network which announced this year’s winners for the 2014 Canada’s Most Powerful Women: Top 100 Awards on Wednesday.

Co-presented by the Bank of Nova Scotia and KPMG LLP, this year’s winners include Charyl Galpin, the recently appointed head of BMO Nesbitt Burns as well as Judy Goldring, executive vice president (EVP) and chief operating officer of AGF Management and Isabelle Hudon, president, Sun Life Financial, Quebec.

Now in its 12th year, the awards are meant to highlight the achievements and strong leadership of women in the private, public and not-for-profit sectors. “Top 100 Award Winners are a testament to the incredible range of female talent and leadership in Canada and proof that change is happening, with more women earning a place at the highest levels of Canadian organizations,” said Pamela Jeffrey, founder of WXN, in a statement.

Other Top 100 award winners from the financial services industry include: Laura Dottori-Attanasio, senior EVP and chief risk officer with CIBC; Mary Forrest, present and chief executive officer, North America (Life), Munich Re; Diane Giard, EVP, personal and commercial banking, National Bank of Canada; Johanne Lépine, EVP, leader, eastern Canada, AON Reed Stenhouse as well as president and CEO, AON Parizeau; Kim Mason, regional president, Atlantic Provinces, RBC; Sandra Stuart, chief operating officer, HSBC Bank Canada; Christina Kramer, EVP, retail distribution and channel strategy, CIBC; Kerry Peacock, EVP, retail banking products and services, TD Bank Group.
