With the recent addition of portfolio manager Sam Pellettieri, Sarbit Asset Management Inc. is introducing three new core fund offerings.

The three funds are: Sarbit Canadian Equity Trust, managed by Pellettieri; Sarbit Global Equity Trust, managed by Pellettieri and Larry Sarbit; and Sarbit Global Balanced Trusty, managed by Pellettieri, Larry Sarbit and Nestor Theodorou.

Pellettieri joined Sarbit’s investment management department on October 1 as EVP equities.

“By adding Sam, an equity portfolio manager who has a similar discipline and approach to investing, we can now offer our style and disciplined approach of money management in the asset classes most requested by our advisors,” says Larry Sarbit, president and CEO.

Pellettieri comes to Sarbit from Tetrem Capital Management, where he was a founder, principal and portfolio manager. In addition, he was also a senior member within Tetram’s team of fundamental investment analysts that manages over $8 billion in equity assets for retail and institutional clients.

Prior to that, Pellettieri worked at Assante Asset Management Ltd, where he was director, quantitative research.

He started his career as a corporate/government fixed income analyst, and managed North American fixed income portfolios.

Pellettieri is a graduate of the University of Manitoba
with a Bachelor of Commerce degree, where he majored in Finance and minored in Mathematics. He holds a Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

In tandem with the new funds introduction, Sarbit will be launching its new Sarbit Income Solutions T-Class Funds, available November 1.

Funds offered under the new Sarbit T-Class will give investors the choice of three different annualized, monthly income options:

  • 4% Annualized Target Distribution (T4 Class);
  • 6% Annualized Target Distribution (T6 Class); and
  • 8% Annualized Target Distribution (T8 Class).

Funds offered in the Sarbit Income Solutions T-Class will be:

  • Sarbit Canadian Equity Trust;
  • Sarbit Global Equity Trust;
  • Sarbit Global Balanced Trust; and
  • Sarbit US Equity Trust.

In addition to the new funds and T-Class launch, Sarbit has also added online access for both financial advisors and investors. Advisors now have the ability to view asset reports, 10% free DSC reports, and client
statements online. Individual investors will also have the ability to see an up-to-date investment statement of their Sarbit funds online.
