Mackenzie Financial Corp. announced Friday that Norman Raschkowan has been hired as executive vp and chief investment officer of the company, effective October 22.

Raschkowan joins Mackenzie Investments from Standard Life Investments Inc. in Montreal where he served as chief investment officer.

“Norman is a proven leader who will play a key role in the investment division at Mackenzie Investments,” says Charlie Sims, its CEO. “His demonstrated track record in long-term investment performance, client service and managing a team of investment professionals make him a strong addition to our management team.”

Over his career, Raschkowan has held progressively senior roles in the fixed income and equity investment areas, including as head of Canadian and U.S. equity investment teams and most recently as chief investment officer.

He has a Finance degree and MBA in International Business and Real Estate from McGill University, and is a member of the CFA Institute.
