The Investment Dealers Association of Canada reports that, effective immediately, it is no longer publishing bulletins reporting hearing panel disciplinary judgments.

“The practice of publishing disciplinary judgments was initially established to communicate a summary of discipline matters when mass dissemination of the actual judgment was not possible or practical,” the IDA says. Now, the IDA publishes all discipline judgments on its Web site upon release by the relevant hearing panel. “Accordingly, the text of all decisions is readily available to members, registrants and the public for review,” it says.

It will continue to publish news releases of all of its decisions in order to ensure interested parties are advised of new discipline judgments.

As a consequence of this change, the association will now make all hearing panel judgments available on the Web site in both French and English. Previously, judgments were available only in the language in which they were written, the IDA notes.
