Montreal-based Fiera Capital Corp. is expanding its distribution reach into the U.K. and some European markets through a partnership with London, U.K.-based Bedrock Asset Management Ltd.

The agreement between the Canadian asset manager and the U.K. wealth manager and advisory firm includes the launch of 20 UGS (UCITS) Funds Fiera Global Equity, a long-only investment fund that will be managed by Fiera and enhance the firm’s access to Europe’s institutional market.

“Fiera Capital is pleased to expand its presence in the European market through this partnership with Bedrock,” says Jean-Guy Desjardins, Fiera’s founder, chairman and CEO, in a statement released Wednesday.

“We continue to identify and advance opportunities to strategically expand our distribution globally, and being able to offer our global equities expertise to Bedrock’s clients aligns well with our respective growth imperatives,” he adds. “It is also a recognition of our long-term investment approach focused on identifying high quality, best-of-breed companies.”

Bedrock serves high net-worth families, foundations, endowments and institutions. It currently oversees more than US$9 billion in client assets and has offices in London, Geneva and Monaco.

“We are excited to partner with Fiera Capital and offer the firm’s global equities expertise to our clients. We are seeing increased demand for global equity offerings and we selected Fiera Capital for their best-in-class discipline and strategy”, says Ariel Arazi, managing partner of Bedrock, in a statement.

This partnership continues to widen the global reach of Fiera, which also has mandates and distribution channels in South Africa, Japan and Australia. The asset manager announced in February it would expand its presence in the U.S. with an acquisition of Dayton, Ohio-based Apex Capital Management, a growth equity fund management firm.
