PlanPlus Inc. has hired Tang Wee Hen to join its executive team in the role of vice president South East Asia, the company said Monday.
This is a new role designed to focus on building on PlanPlus’ established presence in Malaysia and Singapore with a senior resource dedicated to sales, as well as providing additional depth to operations and training in the region, the Lindsay, Ont.-based company says.
Prior to joining PlanPlus, Tang worked for CIMB, one of Malaysia’s largest banks. Her role as vice president in charge of the Financial Care Centre of CIMB Wealth Advisors was instrumental in pioneering financial planning in Malaysia. Her team of more than 100 financial planners was the largest licenced group of financial planners in Malaysia.
Tang is a Chartered Accountant, a Certified Financial Planner and a Certified Professional Coach, specializing in Financial Life Planning and Sales Performance. She is also a Board Member of the Financial Planning Association of Malaysia and a member of the International Coaching Federation, Malaysia.
“I was introduced to PlanPlus in 2004,” says Tang. “Our firm selected PlanPlus as our financial planning solution, since PlanPlus was the only major solution provider with a multi-lingual, multi-currency comprehensive financial planning system.”
“Wee Hen is a perfect addition to the PlanPlus management team,” says Shawn Brayman, president of PlanPlus. “Her unique background combined with her ability to speak English, Chinese and Bahasa Malaysia, makes her the ideal candidate to help expand our South East Asian sales effort. Not only is she knowledgeable about our tools, she is a CFP herself, has managed and coached financial planners and is well acquainted with the planning industry in the region.”
PlanPlus Planit supports other several jurisdictions in Asia and provides services in four languages — English, French, Spanish and Chinese.
“The addition of Tang Wee Hen to the team is another clear indication of our commitment to the Asia region”, said Brad Geer, vice president global sales at PlanPlus. “Although people often think of PlanPlus as just another technology company, we have as many CFPs as we do programmers. Companies in the region know they can count on our software and our experience to help influence their success.”
