The federal government is renewing the appointment of Horst Intscher as director of the Financial Transactions and Reports Analysis Centre of Canada.
“I am pleased that Mr. Intscher will continue to bring his expertise to FINTRAC,” said Finance Minister Ralph Goodale. “He has guided the organization through an important phase of development and growth, and I am confident his leadership will ensure continued success in the future.”
Intscher has extensive experience in the intelligence and security sectors of the federal public service. He began his career with the public service in 1974, and has held a number of senior positions since then.
From 1994 to 1998, he served as assistant deputy solicitor general, policy, and the following year he was appointed executive director, Public Complaints Commission at the RCMP. He became FINTRAC’s first director in July 2000.
