Former financial services company executive Albert (Ab) Mallett passed away on May 4 at the age of 99. Funeral services will be held on May 20 in Winnipeg.
Mallett began his career in the financial services sector as a part-time salesman for Investors Syndicate in 1943, which marked the beginning of a career that lasted more that 60 years.
One of Mallett’s many career milestones was establishing Pro-Fund Distributors, which grew to become one of the largest independent financial planning firms in Western Canada.
Pro-Fund was purchased by Financial Concept Group in 1998 and then by Assante Financial Management Ltd. several years later. Mallett also contributed extensively to the community, through his work with such organizations as the Heart and Stroke Foundation and the Canadian Cancer Society.
