Guardian Group of Funds was recognized for its commitment to helping homeless and troubled youth when it was presented with two awards for its work with Horizons for Youth, a Toronto- based youth shelter.

“GGOF is committed to corporate and social responsibility and believes strongly in community reinvestment,” said Harold Hillier, president and CEO, GGOF, in a release. “We are delighted to be able to make a corporate donation to this important social cause, but I’m even more proud of our employees’ commitment and personal involvement. To date, our employees have helped raise more than $20,000 for Horizons for Youth.”

“Horizons for Youth has a very important mandate to help keep kids off the street. We offer shelter and services for homeless or troubled youth in a safe, supportive environment,” said Carol Murray, Director of Development at Horizons for Youth. “Without partners like GGOF we couldn’t do this vital work of addressing the root causes and effects of homelessness.”

GGOF was awarded Horizons for Youth Coach and Donor of the Year awards at the organization’s recent Annual General Meeting. The awards were given in recognition of GGOF’s role as a corporate donor and their crucial support of Horizon’s for Youth Umbrella Day Campaign.

Horizons for Youth is a non-profit organization that provides food, shelter, services and life-skills training to approximately 1,000 homeless or at-risk youth in Toronto.

GGOF offers a family of thirty-one mutual funds that provide comprehensive diversification by asset class, geographic region and investment style.
