CIBC, Manulife Financial and Royal Bank said today they will donate a combined $50,000 to the Canadian Red Cross to help the victims of recent flooding in Alberta.
“Our thoughts are with the many people in Alberta who have suffered widespread property damage and financial loss,” said Debbie Edghill, CIBC’s senior vp of branch and small business banking based in Calgary.
CIBC’s $25,000 donation is intended to help victims get back on their feet following this disaster.
Manulife Financial will donate $10,000 to assist those affected by heavy rains and flooding.
“Thousands of people in that province have seen their homes devastated by heavy rains and flooding, and they need our whole-hearted support,” said Bruce Gordon, senior executive vp and general manager of Manulife Financial, Canada.
Royal Bank announced a $25,000
donation to the Canadian Red Cross’ Provincial Disaster Response Team to help
the victims of the flooding.
The donations will help Red Cross efforts to raise donations to assist flood victims with housing, food, clean up, clothing and home repairs. The organization recently launched a public campaign to raise funds to support recovery assistance for those ravaged by the flood.
