Elliott & Page Ltd. is changing its internal fund manager for the Elliott & Page Value Equity Fund. As of July 29, Alan Wicks will become lead portfolio manager on the Fund. Wicks has more than 10 years of fund management experience and has been responsible for the Elliott & Page Monthly High Income Fund and the MLI Canadian Large-Cap Value Fund.
“The change reflects our continuing efforts to enhance our product line- up by offering a diversified family of mutual funds that includes every major investment style,” says Eric Grove, vice president, investment funds of Manulife Financial. “The importance of style diversification can not be underplayed, particularly in these volatile markets.”
Wicks will manage the fund using a combination of fundamental and quantitative analysis seeking to identify companies with superior management, strong balance sheets and companies who have a competitive advantage in their respective industries.
