RBC Insurance has opened its first retail insurance office. The new office provides an option for customers who are looking to meet face-to-face with an insurance advisor for home, auto, travel and term life insurance products.
It is located next to an RBC Royal Bank branch in the Woodside Square Mall in the Finch and McCowan area of Scarborough, Ont.
“Consumer interest has exceeded our expectations since we opened the doors in late June,” said Neil Skelding, president and CEO, RBC Insurance, in a release.
“Our objective is to provide clients with greater choice in terms of where and how they can access insurance products and services. The response of both existing RBC clients and potential new customers gives us confidence that this new channel provides a viable and welcome alternative in the insurance marketplace.”
Products offered through the insurance offices include: home and auto insurance; travel health and visitors to Canada insurance; simplified health products; and term life insurance products.
Requests for more complex insurance products, such as universal life insurance, are referred to specialized sales representatives.
RBC Insurance says it plans to open several more offices near RBC Royal Bank branches over the next year.
RBC Insurance provides a wide range of creditor, life, health, travel, home, auto and reinsurance products and services to more than five million clients in Canada, the U.S. and internationally. Its distribution channels include telephone, independent brokers, travel agents, a proprietary sales force and the Internet.
