The Bank of Canada has stepped up its search for a new governor.

Back in November, current governor Mark Carney announced plans to leave the central bank, in order to take over as governor of the Bank of England. At the time, the bank’s board formed a special committee to begin recruiting his replacement.

The bank Monday said that it has hired executive search firm Odgers Berndtson to help out.

The central bank has also placed help wanted ads “to solicit interest in the position and to provide a point of contact for candidates” in The Economist, La Presse and The Globe and Mail.
